On January 27, 2006, FPL Energy closed the sale transaction of 70% ownership in Duane Arnold Energy Center, located in Iowa [3]. On October 1, 2007, FPL completed a purchase of the Point Beach Plant north of Two Rivers, Wisconsin from Milwaukee-based WE Energies for $924Â million.

Their facilities on the Saco River include the Bonny Eagle Dam and the Skelton Dam.
Lawsuits
NextEra has launched a copyright infringement lawsuit against a wind turbine protester who, on her personal website, created a parody of the NextEra logo and referred to the corporation as Nexterror. The corporation's lawyers claim that she âadvertised her services in association with a trademark that was confusing with the Plaintiffâs registered trademarksâ, potentially causing confusion among NextEraâs customers. As in, wind turbine customers might think that the woman is really NextEra and that they might try to buy wind turbines from her.
